Going to United States with street photography in mind
In just a few days I’m heading back to the US once again. Last time I went with my wife to New York but this time we’re actually taking parental leave (yay Sweden!) for two months and taking the kids with us.
I’m travelling light in terms of clothes but with a heavier camera bag. I’m hoping to shoot a lot over there and while I intend to shoot a lot of “family pictures” my focus will of course be on street photography.
Usually I shoot in somewhat bigger cities but this journey we’ll be visiting some smaller places as well which I’m really looking forward too. But I’ll still get my dose of the big cities.
Where are we going?
We’ll be going from Stockholm, Sweden to Fort Lauderdale for starters and we do have quite a trip ahead of us. I’m really looking forward shooting street photography in the upcoming months in places like:
Oh yes, this is going to be a trip of a lifetime for us. Two months on the road and in the air visiting some of the major cities in the United States. And I’ve got a few cameras with me to capture as much as possible.
What’s in my camera bag?
I’ll be travelling with my small compact Ricoh GRD IV which is my go to camera for street photography. Small and nifty and makes me blend in naturally when shooting on the streets.
Other than that I’ll be travelling with my big DLSR as well, together with a sturdy tripod and a variety of lenses. We’re renting a car so I’ll be having no problem driving all that gear around.
But for street photography I’ll be using by Ricoh most of the time, that’s for sure!
Stay tuned, we’re leaving next Sunday!
